On November 25, 2014 the Embassy of Ecuador in Washington DC, with the support of the Commercial Office of PRO ECUADOR in Chicago, launched the “All You Need is Ecuador” campaign in Chicago to promote the country as one of the main tourist destinations in the world as well as their high quality products. The launch is part of a national campaign, including television ads that will air until December 5th in the following television stations: TLC, Discovery in Spanish, Discovery Familia, CNN USA, CNN and TNT Airports, between 5:00pm and 12:00am.

The campaign will be seen in 17 commuter rail cars in the city of Chicago, and will be visible for at least 6 weeks. The campaign highlights Ecuador’s high quality export products, such as roses, shrimp and chocolate, as well as promoting the beautiful landscapes of the country as one of the main destinations for the winter holidays. The campaign also includes ads on the subway and buses in Miami and Washington, DC.

United States is the leading destination for Ecuador’s non-oil exports, with a quarter of Ecuador’s total exports. Several of the Ecuadorian products exported to the US market are found in many supermarkets throughout Chicago and Midwest.

The campaign “All You Need is Ecuador” will help increase the presence of our products in the region and generate consumer interest.

The campaign is being promoted heavily on social media using the hashtag #AllYouNeedIsEcuador to promote the country’s biodiversity and wide range of tourist adventures. The official Facebook and Twitter accounts are: and, also #TradeEcuUsa is promoted to address the strong bilateral relationship between Ecuador and the United States. As part of the online promotion, the Embassy of Ecuador in the US is giving away five trips to Ecuador, including a cruise to the Galapagos Islands and tour of the Amazon. The flights are sponsored by the TAME Airlines, which now offers direct flights from Quito, Ecuador to Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Americans make up a large portion of the tourists who visit Ecuador every year. Of the 1.36 million tourists who visited Ecuador in 2013, about one fifth of the tourists came from the US. The campaign in Chicago increases Americans’ interest in visiting Ecuador.
